CG Conn Elkhart Model 66H Trombone

Price: $3500 sold

This is a Conn 66H trombone, circa 1922, and was recently fully restored here at The Brass Ark. Coming into the shop in rough unplayable condition, it was taken completely apart and meticulously de-dented, reassembled and carefully polished. While apart, the original thumb sling lever was replaced with a modern minibal style linkage and the original friction fit was replaced with a modern Shires connector. The instrument is a combination of red brass, gold brass and nickel. The bell flare has a red brass stem with a gold brass flare, cross seamed construction and a beautiful hand engraved floral pattern. The bell is a 9″ diameter. Slide is gold brass .547″ and takes a large shank mouthpiece, the cork barrels are shorter as was the design at the time, slide action is ok. It makes a big sound, would be well suited for 2nd or 3rd orchestral trombone playing. Sold without case.
