Elkhart Conn 82H Medium Bore Trombone

Price: $2400 with case

This is an unusual Elkhart Conn medium bore trombone, .522″ bore with a 8.5″ two piece bell with cross braced seam, hand bent F attachment and tuning in the slide with fully seamed J bend. This trombone is in yellow brass and has what looks like the original lacquer with darkened patina. Interestingly the 82H “New York Symphony” is a straight tenor in the Conn catalog, while the 80H has a F attachment so this one appears to be a one off custom. The leadpipe receiver takes a euro shank, I’ve included a 51D with this matching shank to fit this trombone. The inner tubes are in very good condition with no wear, the slide works well and has the original opera wheel tuning mechanism. It appears that the trombone originally had a friction fit slide connection, that’s been changed to a modern threaded connector.
