This is a bit of a rare trombone, a model 1606 made by Kanstul in Anaheim. Kanstul was run by Zig Kanstul and made some really unique models before Zig passed and the company ultimately closed. This one, the model 1606, was based on an Earl Williams model 6 and has many of the design features of that instrument. Additionally, this one was ordered with an original screw bell flare which makes in one of a handful that were made (I think only two!!!). Ideal for travel, this trombone fits in a flat case (a newish Marcus Bonna case is included!) and makes it quite compact and versatile especially from trombonists who tour a lot. It has two threaded leadpipes, a yellow brass bell section and lightweight nickel silver outer slide. The curved handgrip of the Williams design is incorporated on this horn and makes it quite comfortable to hold. No signs of wear, just a beautiful jazzer all around! REDUCED
