This is an absolute stunner of an alto trombone. Made by Egger brass in Switzerland, this alto is a faithful recreation of an original F.A. Heckel alto trombone from the early 1900s. Built in the traditional German style or “Romantic Trombone” with a wide nickel garland with shell stamping, all seamed yellow brass construction and traditionally decorated braces and serpent guards. Inner tubes are chrome plated. A tuning slide is elegantly incorporated as is a water key. Takes a standard small shank trombone mouthpiece. No slide lock, as is the traditional design. The sound is incredibly brilliant with sparkling clarity and a wide range of colors. Dynamics are easily controlled and the upper register is extra secure. Can be used with modern trombones or in a historically informed performance with other German style trombones. Includes a hardcase.
