A rare opportunity on a discounted Markus Leuchter “Baby Fuchs” bass trombone.
One of our Second Edition Fuchs bass trombones is coming back to The Brass Ark, very lightly used and in excellent condition.
The Baby Fuchs project was a collaboration between Markus Leuchter and The Brass Ark, modeled after my original 1910s Conn Fuchs bass trombone. These instruments are handmade in Germany entirely from sheet seamed red brass and feature custom Zirnbauer valves, a 9.5″ bell, tuning in the slide, and a press fit leadpipe.
Only eight instruments were made in the original run, and I received just three in this Second Edition. It’s possible we’ll do another batch, but with the current international tariff situation and Markus’s production schedule, that remains unknown. These are quite rare instruments and certainly aren’t going to get any less expensive to produce.
If you’ve wanted a Baby Fuchs, this is a great opportunity to pick one up for less than the cost of a new instrument. With Case
