This is a custom built vintage Bach model 42 with a modern Shires axial valve section and gold brass tuning slide. The Bach bell is original to the slide which dates from the 1970s. The slide has been modified to take shires threaded leadpipes (a #3 is included). Robb Stewart did the bell mount and leadpipe modification. The lock ring is still shires and as such the taper is correct to mate the bell and slide but the threads do not turn all the way to the end, but it does lock in place. A very fine playing trombone and if you’re looking for a serious Bach that can put out some sound, this one should be high on your list. With a gig bag.
