This is a special order Conn 8H (Conn 88H) circa 1952-1953 made prior to the model becoming a regular offering. Many of these were made for the studio of Emory Remington at the Eastman School. This one has been fully restored and relacquered here at The Brass Ark. I love this vintage because of the two town brass and nickel braces, which seems to be only on this one year of production and I think its a striking aesthetic. A beautiful red brass bell with the half moon deco engraving, nickel silver tuning slide guard and bronze outer slide tubes. It also has a hollow core rotary valve that’s brazed together, I think these valves resonate better than solid core rotors… This one has all the good options that make for the ultimate vintage 88H. Slide action is ok but a little bit noisy. Includes the original case in mediocre condition.
